Some time ago, I noticed that the server that hosted many of the DofTNet websites and services was starting to have some problems, so I ordered a replacement. Unfortunately, before the replacement arrived, the old one killed itself.
The replacement arrived and I set about trying to rebuild. Unfortunately nothing is ever that easy and the new server had problems. I returned it for service and after a few weeks, they sent it back with some replacement innards. so far it's been humming along nicely.
I have most of my critical services rebuilt again - DNS, email, that sort of thing. Now it's time to start working on building all new websites. It's probably going to take a while since I lost nearly a decade and a half of work, but on the bright side, I've learned a lot since I first started out.
Planned sites include a new site for all of my origami work, a new solar balloon site, sites for other online services I plan to offer, and whatever other brilliant ideas I come up with in the meantime.
These are the things up and running so far:
The hosted sites are sites created by users on the Cloud server - mostly by me at the moemnt. It's very much a work in progress so don't expect to be impressed to much just yet.
There are a lot of links still out there to the old DofTNet websites, and to the extent possible, I've added redirects that will point those links to possibly appropriate content on the new site so people don't have to hunt around for the content they're expecting to find.
If you want a cloud account, an email account which includes cloud access, already have an account but need help, or otherwise just want to get in touch with me, right now the best place is Facebook.
